Look Straight Ahead
Proverbs 4:23–27 (NLT)
23 Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life . . . 25 Look straight ahead, and fix your eyes on what lies before you. 26 Mark out a straight path for your feet; stay on the safe path. 27 Don’t get sidetracked . . .
Lord, help me to do just this. Especially to guard my heart. It gets so difficult, help my heart to stay pure, unaffected by the events, circumstances, slander, misunderstanding, & the enemies use of Christians to dismantle and discourage pastors. Help me to not be affected by it, but to look straight ahead, unwavering, confidently setting my eyes on what you have set before me, what you have called me to. You’ve marked out a straight path for me, please help me to stay on it, not looking at the results or the circumstances, but fixing my eyes on you, straight ahead. Help me to stay on that path without getting sidetracked. And I will have peace just knowing that I’m doing what you’ve called me to do, without worrying about, or being affected by, circumstances or events. Thank you Jesus. Lead me & guide me for your Name’s Sake. Amen.
