You Know Me

Psalm 139:1–6 (nlt)O LORD, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. 2 You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. 3 You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do. 4 You know what I am going to say even before I say it, LORD. 5 You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head. 6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too great for me to understand!
Philippians 3:10-11 (nlt) - I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death, 11 so that one way or another I will experience the resurrection from the dead!

Lord, you know me. You know everything there is to know about me. You know the things that I don’t even know about myself. You know everything I’ve done, everything I’m doing, and everything I will do. And Lord, you hem me in on all sides. You go before me and behind me, and you place your hand of blessing upon me.

To try to grasp all that means is too much for me Lord, it’s too great for me to understand fully. But it gives me such peace Lord, It causes me to rest and trust you completely. You know me Lord, I am yours, and you place your hand of blessing upon me. You are the great and loving God, and your mercy knows no end. I love you because you first, and always, loved me.

And so Lord, I desire to know you. Above all other things, I desire to know you. To know the power of your resurrection, and to know the fellowship of your suffering. Being fully identified with you in your death, so that I can fully live in your resurrection life.

You know me Lord. My life’s desire is to know you. Thank you for giving me the ability to do that. In your name and for your sake, amen.
